We are sad to announce that little Blue Boy (E.J.) passed away this last Friday, 9-14-12. He was born small about 30% of the other puppies but he started off breathing just fine. It was our hope that he was healthy, just starting out small was all. For the first week, we were able to get him to nurse off of Beacon and it seemed like he was getting stronger and he seemed like a little fighter. He loved to hangout in his Momma's front paw (picture below). Around 10 days he hit a plateau and quit gaining weight and eventually lost interest in nursing. For two days we tube fed him, placing a small tube down his throat and into his stomach every 2 hours while pushing milk through a syringe. Thursday night 9-13-12 he was no longer able to get comfortable in between feedings unless I held him and at 10:45am, Friday 9-14-12 he passed away in my hands, knowing that he was loved.
Blue Boy (E.J.) has joined some of his family at the Rainbow Bridge. At the Rainbow Bridge he is no longer small and sick but as big as his heart and as strong as his spirit. Missing you E.J.
