Alli has a true working dog spirit. She loves having a job to do. Shortly after turning two years old she passed her Service Dog Public Access test. As a Service Dog Alli has been exposed to many different places and situations and has acted with confidence. Some of her favorite jobs as my Service Dog is providing balance and support, pulling off my sock and gloves, and "herding" me back to bed on my bad days when I am not paying attention to my body. She knows when I am in more pain than usual and will bring me her favorite toy and then cuddle up next to me in bed.
In 2012 Alli learned how to pull a cart, she has become a big help especially if I am working outside or gardening. When Alli is working she has a more stoic personality. When she is not "on the job" she is a goof ball with a hint of mischief. Alli is protective of me but also very gentle with people of all ages. Since Alli was a puppy she has visited my Grandpa in the nursing home and has gone with me into schools to do presentations on disabilities and service dogs. I believe that Alli is a fantastic representation of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog but more importantly she is my companion and my help.
